Mother Tongue Reflection #3
Today in class I was absent. However, I went online and read “Mothers Tongue” by Amy Tan. Amy Tan is an Asian-American whose work mainly focused relationships between a mother and daughter. She grew up with her Chinese mother who spoke English that was difficult for people to understand. In the article she stated how her background affected her life, her education, and brought her shame, but she learned to embrace her background.
